Gift Shops

Judith Glue

15, Bridge St, Inverness IV1 1HG, UK – 01463 248529

Great store! A nice change from all the shops selling tartan scarves in Inverness. The young lady working the evening on Friday July 14th was super nice and helpful! Bought some lovely, unique items!

Lovely yarn, lovely shop :)

Caledonian Gifts & Souvenirs

12A Church St, Inverness IV1 1EA, UK – 01463 710664

Nice little store. They have some really awesome souvenirs. Not just some standard postcards or fridge magnets, but so much more. It's too much to list it all here, but you should definitely pop in and see yourself.

Gifts and souvenirs is hands down the best place in all of the Scottish Highlands (the forests and lakes were not bad as well). They specialize in not only selling goods, renting bikes, and being friendly, but also in restoring friendships. We shall tell you a story of our stop in the little shop. She was tired and I was hungry, we were both grumpy and in serious need of a miracle to turn our rough patch of sleepy travel days into a lively adventure. And that's when it happened, we stumbled upon this shop while trying to find the tourist info center. We asked for directions for a bus to see Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle. We were persuaded, despite our better judgement and general lack of confidence in our fitness ability, to instead rent bikes and go down the opposite side of the lake. We got snacks (they even provided a handy lock - that funnily looked just like a bike lock - to secure our food), water bottles and helmets (we needed them) and headed on our way. The bike ride was meant to be about 1.5 hours to a nearby town where we were going to have lunch. We 'accidentally' took a wrong turn (shady sign reading on someones part) ... long story short, we ended up biking for 5 hours, 2 of those spent climbing a mountain (see fitness ability comments above...), 99% of that time silently swearing, 60% of the time crying (on the inside), but much to our surprise, 100% of the time was filled with smiles and laughter. Maybe it was the fresh air, the adventure, the exercise, the giggles, or the snacks, who knows, but it ended up being the time of our lives. We left our grumpy and sleepy ways behind and came out with a stronger friendship than ever. Thanks Gifts and Souvenirs and those that work there that make it the coolest place ever. Love from Jasmin, Jessica, and Nigel (little porcelain haggis who is a former Scotsman, but is in the process of immigrating to Canada).

Victorian Gift Shop

Market Arcade, 1 New Market, Inverness IV1 1PG, UK – 01463 233430

This shop is proven to be cheaper than anywhere else in Inverness. Especially those in the high street location near the Malls, It is sad that the tenants are decreasing. Really hope that this market can be rejuvenated as it contained much history in it.

Crafts Shops

Hobbycraft Inverness

4, Inshes Retail Park, Inshes Rd, Inverness IV2 3TW, UK – 0330 026 1098

every time I visit inverness.. I'm guaranteed to pop into this store. they have great deals and are always offering new products for people with crafting skills. as any hobby craft would offer. it is perfectly situated in a business park with free parking & other stores close by.

Really good variety and quality. Amazing card craft gear.

The Works

24 High St, Inverness IV1 1JQ, UK – 01463 711628

Good place to find arts and crafts things you may have trouble finding elsewhere, but my God is it a tight squeeze in there. Aisles are tiny so if you find yourself getting stuck behind a pensioner who doesn't respond to excuse mes or some inconsiderate Mother who thinks it's a good idea to bring a pram into such a claustrophobic store, don't count on being able to get past them within 5 minutes.

A fine shop full of discounted books and arts n crafts. Well worth a visit.

Magpie Wool and Crafts

94a Old Edinburgh Rd, Inverness IV2 3HT, UK – 01463 223590

The vast majority of the shop is acrylic yarn, or 80% acrylic/20% wool mixes. With the exception of a basket of lovely Shetland Croft wool the rest seemed the quality you’d get at hobbycraft or B&M. I would have expected there to be a selection of local dyers work or blue faced Leicester or merino mixes. If you like knitting acrylic then this has a very wide selection for you to choose from.

I stopped in here for a gift while on holidays and the woman working was both helpful and polite. They had a huge selection of skeins and various other accoutrement for crafts. I would certainly recommend this store to anyone in the area.
