One of the best traditional pubs in the city centre - can really feel the history. Friendly bar staff and regulars mix happily with visitors. Regular live Scottish music at weekends like Ted Christopher for some rousing Scottish songs and other pub favourites to sing along too. Has range of beers including Brewdog Punk IPA on keg. As you would expect decent malts and range of Scottish gins.
Technically we weren't at the bar, but in the air bnb that is right next to it. It definitely gets loud on a Saturday night and everyone in there sounded like they were having a great time. Great music coming through the wall!!

What a cute little boozer - with their own Whiskey! Defo worth a visit when in Inverness!
Very nice bar. Only been there once on my friends 18th and was saldy it in it for 20 mins. But it was very clean and popular place

A sort of budget bar in good location across from the castle in Inverness city centre and all that budget bar entails. Cheap drink can attract the wrong types, also I believe its singles bar come the night. Personally I have no problem with the place and to be honest drink was served promptly and cheerfully but place was quiet at tea time Saturday with football on tv
Nice pub but the food there is less then avrage. Beer price is a bit high but acceptable.

Really excellent. The king prawns are a good way to start, and the sea bass and steak are excellent. We ended with sticky toffee pudding. One of the best meals I've had.
The service was lovely and the delicious!

Lovely meal from start to finish. Very reasonable priced considering my partner and me had all 3 courses and coffee. Naomi the waitress was an absolute delight and deserves all the tip instead of having to share as the other waitresses were pretty glum to be honest. Highly recommended as the food was fresh and in season. Thanks to chefs for an amazing meal.
We happened upon The Mustard Seed Restaurant after a long day of driving. How lucky for us! The waitstaff was kind, attentive, and friendly. Good job, Sophia and Sam! We loved you.The ambiance was warm, welcoming, and unstuffy. The food was OUTSTANDING. Service was prompt. The wine list had every thing you could ever want. A great place to have body and soul nourished. Well done!

A very good restaurant in downtown Inverness, close to river Ness and castle. It was a very positive experience, service was friendly and attentive, fish was fresh and well prepared. Do not miss the cheesecake. Very much recommended.
Good service and nice toilets. Food was fast. Good portion of soup of the day. Slightly overpriced scallop starter - tasted frozen and scallop meat was scarce. Fish and chips were nice but the fish batter was too oily and crunchy. Chips were not great. Mediocre food for the price. Location was good but not an obvious place for a restaurant from the outside. Have to enter restaurant by going up a flight of steps so not sure if disabled access is easy. Very busy and always reserved which must mean the locals love it here.

Great food and choice. We were the knot European people there which proves their food is authentic. O ly bad thing is I had to eventually clear awE my own dishes to the trolley as no one had done them for 2 courses.
Very nice, got in at 5pm, fresh food just laid out, good service, would come again

Very odd version of special fried rice for takeaway last night. Stir fried meat and veggies on a bed of boiled rice. The rice did not appear to have been fried at all, let alone in with the other ingredients. Still quite tasty though.
Lovely place and very nice food at a reasonable price. High quality food and decent portions. Nice location close to shops and bars and handy if your staying in the Waverly hotel.

This is a great Chinese takeaway. Friendly staff and great service. Very tasty food. Good selection. Nice cushions to sit on while you wait. Cosy atmosphere.
Can take a while for delivery but foods always good.

Very nice staff. Food is average but very welcome if you are hungry. Clean and uncluttered. Toilet and washroom is a bit 'Indian'. Drinks are basic lagers and wine list with some rather unknown wines. Anyway I was very late and they made a great effort to give me food. That deserves points!
VEGAN FRIENDLY! I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. I went with my boyfriend who is omni while I am vegan. The waiter was incredibly helpful at explaining which dishes were vegan and which could be made vegan. He even came back to let me know which of the chutneys and pickles I would be able to eat. The food was delicious. I was only sorry that we didn't have enough room to eat it all! Overall, great service, delicious food and great knowledge on vegan eating.

One of the best places we stopped during our trip to Scotland. The food was fresh, spicy, and delicious. The service was good as well--I high recommend it!
Fantastic service, I have a severe dairy allergy and am intolerant to eggs, this wasn't a problem and the staff went over the menu with me. It was such a good experience and I wasn't made to feel nothing was a problem. I asked about gluten free options as I have a friend who is intolerant to gluten and this can be catered for too. Highly recommended and I will be back thank you so much to Harry and Sam for the attention given to me.

Friendly service and decent portions. The menu is full of classic Indian dishes and will fit most tastes. If you are used to spicier food then you may find that the hotter choices disappoint a bit if you are looking for a real kick.
A fine Indian restaurant with good staff!! Will be very helpful for Indians looking to have some home style quisine in a highland trip!!

Exellent food, friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. Don’t forget to upgrade your pizza to smoky chili infused. Ravioli is great. And the yummy the truffle honey goat’s cheese...
They have a separate Vegan menu which was a big hit with our whole party, all vegetarian. The food was absolutely fantastic and the service matched. Would definitely return again.

The pizza is very delicious, the ingredients are fresh and tasty and it doesn't take a long time. Although it is very expensive and the pizzas are not so big (but for me big enough). It disappointed me, that they didn't have a gluten free base ans also not really vegan options.
Lovely italian "pop"atmosphere, in this family run business. I was glad finding genuine homemade dishes with fresh ingredients. Good selection of wines as well.

Food taste is okay. Price is relative cheap in UK standard. Space is average, not too pack but not too spacious. Service is okay as well. The good thing is the location is easily accessible.
Decent food. Service could be better. We were there during a busy hour without reservation so could be why the service was a bit lacking.
8-10 Academy St, Inverness IV1 1JT, UK – 01463 663360
Lovelly food. Friendly service. Not enough staff. One person working really hard
Burgers were delicious and the wait staff were very friendly and attentive. Provided us tourists with ideas on how to enjoy a late drink after they closed.

Absolutely delicious! Service was great. Best paella I've ever had! The gambas shrimp starters were so good we had to order a second helping. Highly recommended. Edit June 28... I spent 3 weeks in Southern Spain searching in vain for tapas that were as good as what I found here. None came close. Seriously, go here! You won't regret it!
Great selection of tasty and fresh tapas served in a really friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Service was lovely too ! We highly recommend this restaurant!

Great find! We were looking for places that offered vegan and gluten free in Inverness and stumbled upon Nourish. Cute, little 5 table (or so) restaurant that offers vegan and gluten free meals. They seem to always have a soup and a lunch special on but they have a small menu as well. We ordered the special the few times we've been in and never once been disappointed. The service is also really friendly which always helps. They've also got a great selection of teas and home-made vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free desserts! We'll definitely be back.
Great vegan and vegetarian food. The soups and sandwiches are great and the people very nice. The food really feels like soul food, it tasted good and seemed also healthy. Totally recommend.

My husband and I were looking for a good place for a cocktail in Inverness and read about Bar One in a magazine in our hotel room. When we walked in we immediately felt comfortable and welcome. We are gin drinkers and were pleasantly surprised to learn how many gins are made in Scotland. Grant was working the evening we were there and we feel like we got a very good education on Scotish gins! Grant asked us what we liked and then suggested a few different gins to try. He was very knowledgeable and personable and patiently answered our many questions. His recommendations were excellent! I should also mention the many, many different cocktails on offer there. There were pages and pages of specialty cocktails on the menu. My husband and I highly recommend going to Bar One . . . you will not be disappointed.
Some nice unusual light bites if you're in a hurry and really good selection of drinks. Clean and modern, polite and friendly staff. Worth a visit.

Very good food in the heart of Inverness. The decor is stylish and the menu is a mix of traditional and more contemporary dishes. This place was recommended by our airbnb hosts and we would go back again for lunch or dinner.
I would have given this place 5 stars but there was a major disappointment with our evening. The food was amazing. So delicious and incredibly reasonably priced. The cocktails were great as well. The decor was stunning as well. However, the service was not the best. In all honesty, the service could improve much more if it is going to meet the standards of the food. We were never checked on, the servers made us feel like second class citizens, and we were told to leave as there was another booking. We had spent over £200 at that place and to be told several times to finish our food and drink was insulting. If it weren't for the food, I wouldn't come back.

After a full day of sight seeing, my husband and I wanted a restaurant we could walk to which had a varied menu and a good bar. We had heard about Scotch & Rye so that's where we went. It was a quiet evening which we enjoyed after being in the midst of crowds all day. We relied on the recommendation of the bartender as to the kind of gin we had in our gin and tonics. His recommendations were spot on. We ordered nachos to eat with our drinks and they were delicious! The nachos filled us up so we didn't need to order anything else for dinner. We enjoyed our time in this restaurant and recommend it to others wholeheartedly
Another fantastic afternoon in the Scotch & Rye. Great service, great choice of beers even though I stuck to my usual tipple of Blue Moon and Boss Lady on the mocktails cos she was driving. Great place to chill out people. Thoroughly recommend it.
