Pub Food with Reviews, Maps and Links to their websites

Innes Bar

61 Innes St, Inverness IV1 1NR, UK – 01463 232387

Nice local pub. Nothing fancy but with friendly and professional staff, you get a nice evening. A fair choice of drinks and good selection of whiskeys, a good place to mix with locals if you're just passing through.

Good local bar staff very friendly food good wish I was closer to Iness

Gellions Bar

14 Bridge St, Inverness IV1 1HD, UK – 01463 233648

Always a great sense of fun in this pub. Regardless if it is an afternoon or night time visit. A good old fashioned working mans bar.

What can I say - Traditional Pub with good atmosphere, excellent choice of drink, central, friendly and often packed but the jewel in the crown has got to be Schiehallion with Kenneth Jamie's on who has a voice like velvet and makes the atmosphere what it is with his banter and music. Schiehallion plays Saturday and Sunday around 5.30 - 8.30 and is not to be missed. Kenny also plays in The Waterfront mid-week check out Schiehallion website for details. Highly recommended.

Glenalbyn Bar

2-4 Tomnahurich St, Inverness IV3 5BL, UK – 01463 231637

Good atmosphere great selection of wine, malts, gin and spirits. Great venue for live 'local' bands. All in all a very pleasant experience.

It was brilliant had a good time with john n peter really funny guys

Pizza Express

Unit B, Eastgate Centre, Falcon Square, Inverness IV2 3PP, UK – 01463 709700

Was in sole charge of 8 kids at their make your own Pizza Party. The staff were amazing, encouraging them all the way to stay involved, and everything was so well paced the kids never got bored. HIGHLY recommend for a fun (and easy for the parents) party for nine year olds.

Great food! Nice atmosphere! Friendly service! There is limited seating so I would highly suggest getting a reservation.

The Riverside Restaurant

10 Bank St, Inverness IV1 1QY, UK – 01463 714884

Really excellent. The king prawns are a good way to start, and the sea bass and steak are excellent. We ended with sticky toffee pudding. One of the best meals I've had.

Hit and miss dining. As a Coeliac I went with the gluten free lamb rack. Was advised they serve it pink but it was blue. Fat wasn't rendered so it was difficult to try and cut through it and not edible. But I didn't get sick so that is a bonus! Fellow diners had duck Scotch egg which was delicious but chicken breast dish to follow was very dry and a big disappointment. Other diner had steak which was very flavoursome with yummy mushrooms. So bit hit and miss. We were told there were new owners so maybe they are settling in?

The Kitchen Restaurant

15 Huntly St, Inverness IV3 5PR, UK – 01463 259119

Ate with a large group here on the second floor. Outstanding view of the river and castle. The food was very good. The Haggis Sliders were excellent and gave me a new found appreciation for Haggis. Didn't see that coming! Would definitely stop in again if in Inverness.

The staff are super friendly and the food is very nice! It has a good view of the river on the top floor. Price is reasonable as well! They even offered us a free side dish!

Chinese Restaurants serving the Inverness area

Crispy shredded beef in chilli sauce! Excellent!!!

Jimmy Chung's

27 Bank St, Inverness IV1 1QU, UK – 01463 237878

Excellent. Food was fresh and tasty, with lots of variety. With Chinese food, I always want just a little bit of everything, so this was perfect. I only wish I could have found room for more!

We visited there because we don't know any other Chinese Restaurant nearby. Taste and Price is just so and so.

Peking House

31 Castle St, Inverness IV2 3DU, UK – 01463 224467

This is carryout only but the quality is consistently good. Delivery is not always speedy as they are popular and therefore busy. Good value.

Reasonable prices but shows in the quality not bad but not the best I've had

Indian Restaurants and takeaways in or near Inverness

Sam's Indian Cuisine

77-79 Church St, Inverness IV1 1ES, UK – 01463 713111

Have had lots of takeaway meals from Sams always great food sauces best I've had. And we've tried most restaurants

Leaved in india for 6 months. Since i have been back to the UK (london), this is the first restaurant I actually enjoyed g have been to many). Some curries are a bit too sweet for my taste, but overall it was pretty good :-) I would recommend it.

Cinnamon Restaurant

1B Millburn Rd, Inverness IV2 3PX, UK – 01463 716020

A fantastic restaurant! Staff are so helpful and very pleasant. The food is of a very high standard, and the portion sizes are generous. The restaurant is also clean and well maintained. The staff are more than happy to provide tupperware to take any leftover food home when finished.

Friendly staff, good food, good sized portions. Plenty choice. We were slightly worried eating here as the reviews are so mixed. However, we went and really enjoyed a tasty meal. Thank you Cinnamon, we'll be back.

Indian Ocean Restaurant & Takeaway

64-66 Academy St, Inverness IV1 1LP, UK – 01463 237755

Very tasty sauces. Beautiful haddock curry first time, very generous portion with lots of juicy fish. Very sad second time we ordered it was two-three bits of fish and mostly onions in the gravy. No consistency of greatness = no customers! Come on guys!

Very nice good. Atmosphere is great and the service is brilliant. Staff are very friendly. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Italian Pasta and Pizza Restaurants

20 Bridge St, Inverness IV1 1HD, UK – 01463 237735

The place was too good and we can get a classic feeling. Too much crowd and good offers for festival. Lot of option in menu and mix menu. Taste was fine and friendly service. A big deal is parking there is no parking in front if the restaurant.

Great zizzi. They have a lovely restaurant layout. Large kitchen area in the middle so you can watch them cook and all the tables round the sides next to the great big glass windows with the great view of the river. Food it lovely to! Kids menu was perfect. Good facilities and good helpful staff.

Little Italy

8 Stephen's St, Inverness IV2 3JN, UK – 01463 712963

Had a lovely dinner here tonight. I had the pepperoni pizza and my mate had the lasagna. The staff were lovely and accommodating. Food was excellent and the atmosphere is great. Perfect for a quiet dinner and all for a relatively cheap price.

Great value for money. Service wasn't great but food was!

Riva Restaurant & Pazzo's

5-7 Ness Walk, Inverness IV3 5NE, UK – 01463 237377

Good food. Marinara sauce is light on basil on oregano but great piles or seafood in the spaghetti marinara. Scotch steak, reputedly Angus, was a bit tough. Seasonal vegetables - perfect! Tiramisu— we are on a world-wide search for the best — is passable but light on chocolate, high on berry garnish - not a contender. Lovely atmosphere looking out at the Castle...

One of the best restaurants in Inverness in my opinion with lovely quality food without an inflated price tag. Local bottled beers made me a "Happy Chappy" anyway! Service very friendly and welcoming and made things very relaxed for a dining companion with special dietary needs. Early evening menu is the best for value and still excellent quality food.

Vegetarian or Vegan Restaurants

Urquhart's Restaurant

2 Young St, Inverness IV3 5BL, UK – 01463 233373

Been here a couple of times now, including for a Christmas lunch. The location is a little hidden away and it's small, but the staff are super friendly and always amenable and it's clean and fresh inside. It does fill quickly, so book ahead. The tables can also be a little close together because of its size, and that can give the impression of it being noisier than it probably is. Food is really good and very reasonably priced, but the small staff and extensive menu cooked fresh means you might wait a little, but it's worth it. Good for family meals, small work events etc.....probably wouldn't consider it for a romantic meal option though.

The most amazing fish pie! Creamy but not too overindulging. Veggies on the side to balance the meal and presently very nicely. My photo doesn't do justice. Large portions and friendly service! A wonderful experience with Scottish food. Walked in right before 6pm and got a table for one :)

Cafe One

75 Castle St, Inverness IV2 3EA, UK – 01463 226200

Excellent food and service. Nice decor and surroundings too. One of if not THE BEST restaurant in Inverness. Always busy so make sure you book well in advance. The courses are well presented but not to the extent that you just get a pretty picture on a plate..! You do get a decent portion. The menu has something for everyone and they have a good wine list. Just go and enjoy the experience.

It seems so small and quaint from the outside, but go inside and this place is amazing! My wife and I ended up at Cafe One after every other place we went to was either booked for the night or faced 90 minute wait times. While our wait for a table exceeded what we were told, the manager sat is at the front bar and took care of our needs, and exceeded them! The food was outstanding, and service was impeccable. I can't wait to go back!

The Mustard Seed Restaurant

16 Fraser St, Inverness IV1 1DW, UK – 01463 220220

Food is delicious. New menus every week I believe. Locally sourced produce. Staff are very pleasant. Only ever had one issue when one gent spoke and looked at me as though I shouldn't be in the restaurant due to my jeans and t shirt appearance when booking earlier in the week when passing.. Feedback issued to them!

Usually when going out to the mustard seed we Dine upstairs which has a lovely view, great staff and the food is excellent. However booking for 27th Dec we were left standing in the passage way waiting for our table, this time we happened to be down stairs. Had a less than lovely waitress who tended to our table banging our food in front of us and appeared as if she could not of cared less. Most unwelcoming. Food warm not hot. Very disappointed as this was not the usual standard. The best part of the evening was the lovely gentleman who came over with our bill.

Wine Bars and Cocktail Bars

Bar One Inverness

1 Academy St, Inverness IV1 1JN, UK – 01463 714471

Great place to go for a variety of cocktails. Always a popular choice.

Decent cocktail bar..geared more towards girls/women. So if your on the pull you know where to come...lol

Scotch & Rye

21 Queensgate, Inverness IV1 1DF, UK – 01463 715374

Great place and great ambiance ! The food is good, with ample choice, and served rapidly. The cocktail menu is one of the most amazing that I've ever seen, and prices are very reasonable. All in all a very good choice in Inverness.

Very helpful and knowledgeable staff, great selection of bourbons 😀🥃 Good atmosphere

The White House

50 Union St, Inverness IV1 1PX, UK – 01463 226767

I would have given this place 5 stars but there was a major disappointment with our evening. The food was amazing. So delicious and incredibly reasonably priced. The cocktails were great as well. The decor was stunning as well. However, the service was not the best. In all honesty, the service could improve much more if it is going to meet the standards of the food. We were never checked on, the servers made us feel like second class citizens, and we were told to leave as there was another booking. We had spent over £200 at that place and to be told several times to finish our food and drink was insulting. If it weren't for the food, I wouldn't come back.

Nice atmosphere, very chilled. Nice staff and quality drinks and food. Not the cheapest bar but you get what you pay for.
